On 29 June 2023, OAV - German Asia-Pacific Business Association and CMS, China jointly held a webinar on the topic "Cross-Border Personal Data Transfers from China: Practical Tips for Multinationals".
Ms. Jeanette Yu, Partner and Head of Employment & Pensions of CMS, China, together with Ms. Panpan Tang, Senior Associate of CMS, China gave speeches on the topic. Ms. Tang gave an overview of the current legal regime for cross-border transfer of personal information, and particularly introduced the Standard Contract approach. Ms. Tang and Ms. Yu then addressed specific scenarios, introduced cross-border transfer of personal information in the context of business activities and HR management, respectively, and shared their insights on what measures companies should take in such scenarios.
