As we all return from the summer break, we are delighted to launch the autumn series of CMS’s CEE Restructuring & Insolvency Forum.
The series will kick off with a deep dive into restructuring trends in the travel and leisure sector on Thursday 16 September and will continue with topical issues looking at restructurings in a leveraged finance context in October. In the following sessions, we will provide you with practical tips for coordinating a restructuring process and we will hear from our litigators, to get the latest insight on insolvencies and disputes in CEE. As EU member states make progress with the long-awaited Preventive Restructuring Directive and COVID-related government support measures are phased out, we will wrap up the series with an update on the CEE restructuring market including the latest on available restructuring and insolvency tools.

Travel and leisure industry restructuring
The travel and leisure industry is a key sector across CEE that, like most industries across the globe, has been badly hit by the pandemic. This has inevitably brought financial difficulties to some hotel owners. Building on the findings of our recent report, Hotel Investment Scene in CEE: Overcoming the Pandemic & Bridging the Financial Gap, jointly published by CMS and Cushman & Wakefield, this webinar will address two main topics:
- the practical aspects to ensuring a successful restructuring process that can help owners bridge financial gaps; and
- the key facets of the CEE hotel sector—analysing market performance thus far, particularly given the summer optimism, as well as its fundamentals for recovery in the coming months and beyond.
