Candy Tong is a Partner in the Hong Kong office and a key member of CMS' Greater China Intellectual Property practice. She advises multinational corporations, brand owners and high-growth businesses on complex intellectual property, employment and commercial matters across Hong Kong, mainland China and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Candy is recognised for providing commercially focused advice on the protection, enforcement and commercialisation of intellectual property rights. Her practice covers trade mark portfolio management, brand protection, contentious disputes, anti-counterfeiting programmes, online enforcement, licensing and transactional matters. She regularly leads multi-jurisdictional projects and enforcement programmes across Greater China and other key international markets.
In addition to her intellectual property practice, Candy advises employers on a broad range of employment law matters, including executive hiring and departures, workplace policies, restructurings, restrictive covenants and cross-border workforce issues. She is valued by clients for combining technical legal expertise with pragmatic commercial judgement in complex cross-border situations.
Candy has played a leading role in developing the firm's intellectual property filing and prosecution platform in Greater China and advises clients across a range of sectors, including life sciences, technology, consumer products, luxury goods, financial services and automotive.
She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin and has passed the Greater Bay Area Legal Professional Examination.
