Grace Ip is a solicitor admitted in Hong Kong and New South Wales, Australia (non-practising). Grace’s experience includes advising on a wide range of contentious commercial litigation, e.g. contractual and commercial disputes, debt recovery and insolvency actions, shareholder disputes, and estate administration disputes. 

Relevant experience

  • One of the two business partners in a group of dry bulk shipping companies in relation to their and their related companies’ numerous disputes in over 30 separate Court actions in Hong Kong and overseas.
  • Directors of a Hong Kong listed company in a HKEx disciplinary action. 
  • Professional liquidators in the restructuring and eventual liquidation of a Hong Kong listed company incorporated in Bermuda, and the various disputes derived thereunder concerning the company, its subsidiaries, directors and employees.
  • A multinational innovative technology company in defending a patent injunction related damages claim by a local electrical appliances brand in Hong Kong Court.*
  • A R&D Centre for information and communications technologies in a contractual dispute with one of its sponsors, i.e. a PRC-based technology company, in relation to the delivery of technology licensing and contract service deliverables.
  • A high-net-worth individual in defamation action, trust claim and interpleader proceedings.*
  • A member of a prominent Hong Kong family in disputes concerning his late Father's multi-billion Estate and subsequently his late Mother's Estate.*
  • A charitable foundation in several Court actions concerning donation/loans, replacement of provisional administrators and other estate administration matters.*
  • Various banks and companies in recovery of debts due from their customers by way of assets tracing, obtaining money judgments, and taking enforcement actions, including obtaining charging orders, garnishee orders, etc.*
