CMS Italy and DLA Piper with VGP Park Valsamoggia s.r.l. and Aareal Bank respectively in the financing of Macron S.p.A.'s new logistics and ecofriendly complex

DLA Piper and CMS Italy respectively have assisted Aareal Bank and VGP Park Valsamoggia S.r.l. (a subsidiary of VGP European Logistics 2 S.à r.l., a joint venture between the VGP group, market leader in the development and management of high quality logistics and semi-industrial parks, and several Allianz Group companies), in the financing of two real estate properties located in the Municipality of Valsamoggia, in the Province of Bologna, to be used as the headquarters and distribution warehouse of the Emilian company Macron S.p.A., active in the sportswear sector and technical sponsor of several Italian Serie A clubs, allowing the company to centralize the storage, maintenance, packaging and shipping areas.

The real estate properties cover an area of almost 53 thousand square meters that is located along the major transit route between Milan, Bologna, and Rome. The project entails the construction of the real estate complex according to modern criteria of environmental sustainability, by using photovoltaic panels on both the headquarters and the warehouse, for a total of 350 kWp, both surrounded by 15 thousand square meters of lawn, 140 trees and more than three thousand shrubs, allowing the achievement of the “BREEAM Very Good Certification”.

In the context of the financing of VGP Park Valsamoggia - which is part of a more articulated pan-European financing to the VGP group for a capital amount of over Euros 400 million - Aareal Bank was assisted by DLA Piper, with a multidisciplinary team coordinated by the partner Giuseppe Mele, assisted by the lawyer Ivano Sproviero, and also composed by the partner Paolo Foppiani, assisted by the lawyers Chiara Sciaraffa and Marta Gervasio for real estate aspects and by the partner Carmen Chierchia and the lawyer Viviana De Napoli for administrative and town planning aspects.

VGP Park Valsamoggia was assisted by a multidisciplinary team of CMS Italy, composed of the lawyers Paolo Bonolis and Maria Giovanna Pisani, respectively Partner and Counsel of the Banking & Finance Department, who have assisted the Company in the implementation of the financing transaction.
