Lillian is a Principal Associate in the Real Estate & Construction and Banking & Finance Departments of the Firm. She is a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. 

Lillian obtained her LLB (Hons.) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in 2012, undertook her pupillage at Archer & Wilcock Advocates and qualified as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2015. Lillian practised law with Raffman Dhanji Elms & Virdee Advocates LLP from admission up to March 2024. She then joined CMS Daly Inamdar Advocates as a Principal Associate in the Real Estate & Construction and Banking and Finance Departments.

Lillian’s primary areas of practice are Real Estate and Bank Securities.

Relevant experience

  • Acting for various clients, including property developers and owners of commercial properties. This entails preparation of various transaction documents in the form of sale agreements, transfers and leases. She has been involved in drafting, reviewing and advising on offer letters, negotiating terms of sale agreements, negotiating long term leases, drafting and reviewing Joint Venture Agreements, advising clients on structuring of sale and acquisition transactions including applying for and obtaining stamp duty exemptions, registering transfers, leases and security documents at the relevant land registry and generally advising the clients on legal issues arising thereof.
  • Acting for private clients on leasing of commercial warehouses.
  • Acting for and advising a property developer on the structure and development of high-end commercial offices. Work included drafting of the letters of offer, agreements for sale and long-term leases.
  • Structuring and advising private clients on various property portfolios and the subsequent leasing of commercial offices/shops/restaurants.
  • Acting generally for various licensed commercial banks and financial institutions in Kenya on security documentation, including debentures, charges and loan/facility agreements securing varying amounts.
