We are seeking an Advanced Associate - Private Client Department (Criminal law)

As part of the continued growth of our Private Client department, we are seeking an Advanced Associate - Private Client Department (Criminal law) with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience. 

You will advise a sophisticated private client base including executives, entrepreneurs, family offices and high-net-worth individuals on a broad range of criminal law and business crime matters. You will be involved in sensitive and complex domestic and cross-border cases, working closely with the partners and other practice groups across the firm. 

This role offers a high level of autonomy, significant client exposure and the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise in a dynamic and international environment. 

 

Key responsibilities 

  • Advise and assist clients on criminal law, business crime and criminal risk management matters. 
  • Conduct in-depth legal research. 
  • Draft legal advice, memoranda, procedural documents, pleadings and correspondence. 
  • Assist clients in investigations, interviews, criminal proceedings and sensitive situations. 
  • Prepare hearings and contribute to the development of defence strategies, working closely with the partners. 
  • Support clients in dealings with judicial and administrative authorities when required. 
  • Coordinate with external advisors, foreign counsel and other stakeholders when required. 
  • Contribute to the development of client relationships and support the continued growth of the Private Client department. 

 

Candidate Profile

  • Master's degree in Criminal Law, Business Criminal Law or equivalent qualification. 
  • 4 to 6 years of experience gained within a leading law firm or a recognised criminal law / business crime practice. 
  • Strong expertise in criminal law and business crime, ideally applied to a sophisticated private client base. 
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong team-oriented approach. 
  • Strong client-service mindset and attention to detail. 
  • Fluency in both French and English is essential, both written and spoken.
