CMS strengthens litigation practice with Andries Polkerman and Simon Polkerman

06/03/2023

Experienced litigation lawyers Andries and Simon Polkerman joined CMS as counsels on 1 March 2023. Their arrival is in line with CMS's growth ambition and in particular that of its litigation practice. Andries and Simon have particularly made a name for themselves in commercial litigation. Before this, they had been working at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek since 2011.

Andries focuses on commercial litigation and contracting in a broad sense. He represents leading companies in complex litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Andries is very experienced as a litigator in various types of cases, including tort law and commercial contract law, mass damages and class action, financial litigation, competition law and distribution.

Like his twin brother, Simon has extensive experience with complex national and international procedures, including alternative dispute resolution, arbitration and summary proceedings. Simon has assisted numerous national and international companies in complex proceedings and, like Andries, his experience covers various sub-areas within the litigation practice.

Perfect fit

"I am very excited about this new adventure at CMS. It is a perfect opportunity to contribute to an international litigation practice in which high-quality service is an important focus point. The switch feels like a perfect fit and very well compliments the growth and ambitions of CMS."

Andries Polkerman

“In a changing legal market, we are committed to ensuring that high-quality legal services are accessible and effective. I look forward to continuing to grow together with CMS's international litigation practice."
