Defurne is affiliated with CMS Kluge's construction department, where she provides advice and dispute resolution services in the areas of contract law and construction law. Defurne also has expertise and experience in intellectual property law, and provides advice and dispute resolution services in this area of law as well.
Defurne has also been part of the legal academic community at the University of Stavanger, where she has held seminars and been an examiner for law students.
Defurne completed her master's degree in law at the University of Bergen in the spring of 2020. Defurne has also been on exchange at the University of Southampton in England, where she specialised in intellectual property law. During her studies, Defurne was employed as a working group leader for students in the bachelor's programme in law at the University of Stavanger.
