The lawyers affiliated with the Construction Law group offer comprehensive industry insight and professional expertise. We assist many of Norway's largest public and private sector property developers, advisors, contractors and trade associations.
In addition to rendering legal advice in all phases of a building or construction project, we act as a strategic advisor in the planning and implementation of building and construction projects. We have opinions and ideas on how a building or construction project could or should be structured, including which contract model may be best suited.
We understand the importance of clarifying the risk factors of a project in an early phase, as well as following up on these during the contract and implementation period. We have extensive experience of assisting with the final project phase, in relation to both handover and final settlement, including any related negotiations.
We work in close cooperation with our Energy group lawyers who focus on offshore contracts. Inter-group cooperation is valuable when advising on large onshore construction projects with a contract structure based on offshore contracts.
The group's lawyers also work in close cooperation with the lawyers affiliated with the Public Procurement, Property and Dispute Resolution groups.
We assist with dispute resolution and plead numerous cases before both the ordinary courts and arbitral tribunals every year. A number of our lawyers also have extensive experience as arbitrators in construction disputes.
Our lawyers also sit on legal committees, author legal books and articles, and hold lectures for both trade associations and clients on a regular basis. Being professionally up-to-date at all times is one of our top priorities.
The lawyers' advice on strategic matters is unique, and they can go deep into the details in complex issues.
