At CMS, we support Médecins Sans Frontières, also known as Doctors Without Borders, in their mission to provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters or exclusion from healthcare.
As part of this global effort, CMS has raised over EUR 47,000 through various efforts, such as a cookbook and a virtual running event.
In December 2020, CMS published Eating together - Cooking Made for Sharing with recipes provided by CMS people from around the world. The cookbook featured a wide-ranging mix of recipes, everything from Indian curry to German Schlanganger. Many of the recipes included personal stories from the contributors outlining why these dishes are important to them and highlighting the emotional and cultural importance of food.
In another key fundraising initiative, CMS launched Runners Without Borders, a virtual event held between 1 June and 15 August 2021. Through 241 fundraisers, the CMS teams covered more than 51,000 kilometres from Mexico City to Hong Kong. The route went via CMS offices in Central America and South America, across to South Africa and up through the African continent to Portugal. The runners then virtually crossed Europe, before moving through Turkiye, the Middle East and overland to Hong Kong.
Supporting Médecins Sans Frontières in their efforts to provide healthcare to people in need is an important part of our charitable programme. If you want to learn more about the work of MSF or if you too would like to support them, please go to msf.org.
