CMS Belgrade has advised Austria's leading telecommunications firm A1 Telekom Austria, and a prominent provider of digital services and communications solutions in Central and Eastern Europe, on all Serbian aspects of the strategic spin-off of their tower portfolio, consisting of around 12,900 cell towers in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia, to a newly set-up TowerCo, named EuroTeleSites AG. The spin-off will make A1’s network faster and more efficient and enable the operator to focus on its core business. EuroTeleSites AG, the newly formed entity, achieved a milestone by listing its shares on the official market of the Vienna Stock Exchange.

CMS Belgrade has provided comprehensive legal support for the structuring of the carve-outs, transfer of greenfield and rooftop sites, local spin-off, regulatory matters (telecoms and energy supply regulations). Our team of lawyers, headed by Radivoje Petrikić, Partner CMS Vienna and Managing Partner CMS Belgrade, and Marija Tešić, Corporate/M&A Law Partner, included experts in corporate, real estate, telecommunications, energy and tax law matters Marija Marošan, Srđan Janković, Ivana Blagojević, Mila Drljević, Jelena Đorđević and Teodora Vujošević.
