ESMA has published a statement on the results of its common supervisory action on how sustainability is integrated into firms’ suitability assessment in addition to processes and procedures for product governance. ESMA asks national authorities to use a balanced supervisory approach, encouraging dialogue with firms during the transition period instead of focusing on enforcement, except in cases of clear breaches or mis-selling.
