Job Description
CMS is looking for an Accounting Assistant to strengthen its finance & accounting team in Brussels.
Profile:
- Ideally, you have some experience in a similar accounting role, however, don’t hesitate to apply if this would be your first job!
- You hold a Belgian higher-education degree in Accounting
- You have an excellent command of Excel and are comfortable working with accounting software such as Winbooks
- You are a French speaker with a good command of English and basic knowledge of Dutch
- You have strong project management skills and can take full ownership of processes from start to finish
- You are hands-on, proactive and able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- You work with great accuracy and attention to detail
- You are enthusiastic, a true team-player and possess excellent communication skills
- You have a strong sense of service
Main responsibilities:
As Accounting Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the team with tasks such as:
- Day-to-day management: entering supplier invoices, handling emails, tracking invoices receivable, performing various data entry and verification tasks, and assisting with the preparation of customer invoices.
- Annual management: compiling the customer list and preparing Statbel reports.
- Monthly and annual closings: recording closing entries and preparing monthly filings (VAT – INTRA – ONEGATE).
- Reopening: reopening the books, preparing the budget for year A+1, and allocating expenses.

Recruitment process:
Our selection process is designed to be transparent, efficient, and friendly. It consists of the following steps:
- CV screening:
Initial review of applications to assess alignment with the requirements of the role.
- Phone interview (language check):
Short call with HR to evaluate your English and Dutch language skills.
- First interview on-site:
Meeting with our Accountant and Operations Manager to discuss your experience, motivation, and fit with the team.
- Technical accounting test & team introduction:
On-site technical test to assess your accounting skills, followed by a brief meeting with two future colleagues: the Account Assistant and the Invoicing Assistant.
