Michaël began his career as an attorney at law in 2006 with a corporate law firm in Brussels, where he gained significant experience in corporate law, civil law and construction law.
Michaël joined CMS DeBacker in 2011, where his practice focuses on real estate law, civil law and corporate law.
His expertise in real estate law and in civil law comprises all aspects of matters relating to rights in rem (real estate property, joint and co-ownership, leasehold, superficies, usufruct, easements, pledge, mortgage), including financing, leases and other associated matters, from the pre-contractual stage to dispute resolution before judicial and arbitral courts. In corporate law, his specific skills include incorporation and liquidation of companies, mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring, drafting of shareholders’ and management agreements, matters involving securities and share capital, partnerships and dispute resolution.
In these fields, Michaël assists and advises leading Belgian and foreign players (companies, shareholders, investors, real estate developers, building contractors, financial institutions) within the framework of their domestic and international operations.
