Stéphanie Houx joined CMS Belgium’s Tax department in March 2021. She specializes in indirect taxation with a strong focus on the real estate sectors. She has gained experience by practicing tax law for more than 20 years at Allen & Overy, where she has become a recognized practitioner.

She advises leading banks, insurance companies and public authorities regarding real estate matters, VAT-related litigation and advisory matters. 

She has been awarded “Real estate Tax adviser of the year” by the Finance Taxation Awards 2022.

  • Specializing in real estate taxes: VAT, registration duties, withholding and local taxes and Indirect tax law.
  • Specialization in VAT in all sectors including public and financial.
  • Civil law: rights in rem and other civil law topics, real estate knowledge.
  • Tax litigation: successful ECJ and Belgian Supreme Courts judgments in all tax matters (direct and indirect taxes).
