As an internationally active commercial law firm, CMS Switzerland draws on extensive legal know-how developed over many years across a wide range of practice areas. This includes contracts, case files, templates, presentations and precedents that form a key foundation for consistent quality standards throughout the firm. In order to organise this knowledge base in a structured manner and ensure its secure, long-term accessibility, CMS Switzerland has further developed its internal knowledge infrastructure and implemented an AI-enabled solution by DeepJudge, built on Microsoft Azure and Azure OpenAI Services.

The introduction of the technology was guided by stringent requirements in relation to data protection and information security. Data residency is in Switzerland, with data hosted by Microsoft in Switzerland. Security and compliance were central considerations throughout the implementation process.

“Data security is our top priority. The fact that Microsoft hosts our data in Switzerland and that DeepJudge, through Microsoft, also ensures high data protection convinced us.”

Stefan Brunnschweiler, LL.M.

Managing Partner

At CMS Switzerland, the use of AI-enabled systems takes place within clearly defined organisational and regulatory frameworks. The objective is to systematically safeguard institutional knowledge and ensure its sustainable availability across the firm.

“DeepJudge AI allows us to turn our collective experience into a usable asset—streamlining workflows and making it significantly easier to find relevant precedents and insights.”

Stefan Brunnschweiler, LL.M.
