CMS advises Hill-Rom on sale of Völker

Frankfurt/Main – US-based medical technology company Hill-Rom has sold Völker, a German manufacturer of long-term care beds, hospital beds and care home furniture. HillRom acquired Völker in 2012 and is now selling the Völker business to CoBe Capital. Completion of the deal is expected in the third quarter of 2017. The purchase price was not disclosed.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Martin Bell advised Hill-Rom on all legal aspects of the sale and the extensive internal restructuring that preceded it.

Hill-Rom is a global medical technology firm with more than 10,000 employees. In the 2016 financial year, the company generated revenue of around USD 2.7 billion. Hill-Rom partners with healthcare providers in more than 100 countries, specialising in patient care solutions in the following core areas: advancing mobility, wound care and prevention, patient monitoring and diagnostics, surgical safety and efficiency, and respiratory health.

Based in Witten, North Rhine-Westphalia, Völker develops and produces long-term care beds, hospital beds and care home furniture for clinics, hospitals and homecare. It produces a total of some 35,000 beds a year. In the 2016 financial year, the company generated revenue of around USD 40 million and had approximately 300 employees.
