CMS advises UFA Serial Drama on cooperation with Divimove to promote young actors

09/12/2020

Hamburg – UFA Serial Drama, Germany’s best-known TV production company for daily and weekly serial formats, has signed a cooperation agreement with pan-European talent agency Divimove to promote young acting talent. The aim of the venture is to foster the development of individual actors and establish them as strong personality brands on relevant platforms such as TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. This collaboration between production company and talent agency is the first of its kind in Europe.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Sebastian Cording and lead counsel Dr Martin Gerecke advised UFA Serial Drama on legal aspects of the deal and on the structuring of the cooperation agreement. This is the first time that CMS has acted for the TV production company.

UFA Serial Drama is a TV production company based in Potsdam-Babelsberg whose core business is developing and producing serial formats. It is a subsidiary of UFA GmbH. The company ranks daily series “Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten” (Good times, bad times) as its most successful production.

Digital Video Movement (Divimove) describes itself as the first pan-European studio and talent agency, with locations in more than eight European cities. The company assists social influencers and artists who are underexposed on the social web to develop their own personality brand across a range of platforms. Divimove’s international team consists of 250 employees. The firm’s labels also include extracurricular youth education initiative MESH Collective, Scandinavian video network United Screens, social-first agency Tube One Networks and digital studio UFA X.
