Tim Elliott is Head of Asset Finance and an Energy Finance Partner at CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP. He advises on a wide range of debt and leasing transactions across the asset and commodity classes working with export credit agencies, owners, banks, lessors and portfolio managers, in particular on offshore, LNG, renewables, shipping and aviation financings and all associated equipment procurement, chartering and operating arrangements. Tim has worked on projects across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

Shipping and Offshore

  • A Chinese finance house in respect of the sale and leaseback financing of two FSRUs for gas importation projects in Brazil and Australia. 
  • A Norwegian national oil and gas company on the innovative financing of an FPSO asset in Europe utilising ECA-backed debt and lease financing.
  • A  Singapore-based shipping company in respect of restructuring nine vessels and six barges under arrest in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and South Korea. 
  • A German ship management company on the sale and leaseback financing of 2 8,200TEU containerships to be purchased and chartered by a Chinese leasing company.
  • A Greek owner, operator, and manager of LNG carriers on the financing and re-financing of over 20 LNG Carriers with a global syndicate of ECAs and commercial banks.

Energy

  • A US multinational on the equipment supply and tied financing of various solar, wind and battery storage assets in projects in Europe and the Middle East
  • A Norwegian national oil and gas company on the innovative ECA-backed debt and lease financing of certain of its offshore assets in Europe
  • An global investment bank on two monetisation programmes for the purchase and resale of in-tank oil and gas commodities.  
  • A South American producer on the structuring of a secured receivables financing on a pre-export financing basis of various offshore field assets. 
  • A small modular reactor nuclear power project developer in Europe in connection with structuring and bankability of SMR projects.

Aviation

  • An Asian bank on a warehouse facility to a subsidiary of a Hong Kong listed aircraft leasing Group to fund the purchase of various second-hand aircraft.
  • A global corporate on its corporate jet programme, including a corporate jet sale and the purchase of a majority aircraft interest in a fractionalised programme.
  • An Asian based lessor and operator in respect of various aircraft financing and re-financings.
