Filippo joined the Firm in 2023 and is a member of the Insurance Department.
He advises insurers, brokers, MGAs, TPAs and agents at both national and international level on regulatory and contractual matters, with particular focus on distribution agreements, as well as on the structuring, localisation and review of insurance products (including Cyber, Fine Art, Professional Indemnity, Travel and Roadside Assistance) and insurance-based investment products.
He served, on secondment, as Head of Legal of the Italian branch of a leading international insurer. In this role, he coordinated the activities of the supervisory body (i.e., ODV), oversaw the review and negotiation of commercial and insurance contracts, and managed direct relationships with the Italian Insurance Supervisory Authority (IVASS).
Filippo has developed significant experience in claims management and in the resolution of contentious and non-contentious disputes, particularly in relation to D&O, Medical Malpractice, Professional Indemnity, Public Officials and General Liability matters, including proceedings before the Italian Court of Auditors concerning accounting liability for public financial loss.
Prior to joining CMS, Filippo gained solid experience in the insurance sector by working directly with insurers and international brokers, developing an in-depth knowledge of insurance regulations and market operational dynamics.
