César is a Partner at CMS Mexico and Head of the Real Estate Practice. He also advises clients on Project Finance and Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), bringing a multidisciplinary perspective to complex transactions and strategic investments. With extensive experience in the real estate, infrastructure, and financing sectors, César advises domestic and international investors, developers, lenders, and corporations throughout the entire lifecycle of projects and transactions. His practice focuses on the structuring, development, acquisition, financing, and operation of real estate and infrastructure assets, including the design and implementation of sophisticated legal structures involving trusts (fideicomisos), special purpose vehicles (SPVs), and corporate entities. César regularly leads the negotiation and drafting of transaction documents and financing arrangements for high-value projects, helping clients navigate complex regulatory, commercial, and operational challenges. Over the course of his career, he has advised prominent national and international clients, including Union Investment, which he has represented for more than a decade, as well as Grupo INDI, Mota-Engil, Deka Immobilien Investment, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), Grupo O’Donnell, Vesta, and leading financial institutions such as Nafin, Bancomext, Banco del Bajío, Banorte, Multiva, Monex, Macquarie, and Commerzbank. Drawing on his strong corporate law background, César also advises on governance matters and has served as corporate secretary and board member for various companies, providing strategic counsel on corporate decision-making and long-term business objectives. |

He specializes in structuring and financing complex projects across all asset classes, including industrial, residential, hospitality, office, and mixed-use developments. César regularly advises local and international clients on corporate and real estate matters, from project development and day-to-day operations to sophisticated financing transactions.
His track record includes advising on some of Mexico’s most significant real estate and infrastructure developments, demonstrating his ability to design and implement innovative structures involving trusts, special purpose vehicles, and companies. He also has extensive experience drafting and negotiating the full range of contracts and agreements required to implement and finance these projects.
He has advised national and international clients such as Hasta Capital, Grupo Indi, Mota Engil, Deka Immobilien Investment, Union Investment Real Estate, on real estate, M&A and project finance transactions related to real estate projects in Mexico.

He has also developed his practice on the design and drafting of concessions, licences, permits and contracts relating to Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and public works projects.
