Eduardo is a Senior Associate in the Firm’s Corporate, M&A, and Project Finance practice areas. He has developed his entire professional career at the Firm, including a secondment at the CMS Madrid office following the completion of a master’s degree in international business law.

Eduardo advises domestic and international clients on cross-border corporate, M&A, and project finance transactions, with a focus on regulated industries, infrastructure-related assets, and technology-driven businesses. His practice covers the corporate, financing and regulatory aspects of multi-jurisdictional transactions.

He advises clients throughout the lifecycle of M&A and project finance transactions, including acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, strategic investments, the structuring of corporate vehicles, and the financing of infrastructure and large-scale projects involving public and private sector counterparties, frequently acting as transaction coordinator in complex, multidisciplinary matters to support deal execution.

His international experience enables him to support Mexican companies expanding abroad, as well as international clients investing in Mexico, with practical and commercially focused advice, involving workstreams across multiple jurisdictions.

Relevant experience

  • Representation of FONATUR in the structuring, tendering, and implementation of Mayan Train, a 1,552 km train in Southeast Mexico.
  • Advising a group of Mexican developers on the implementation of the “Cuapiaxtla-Cuacnopalan”, a highway concession project in Puebla, Mexico with an estimated investment of US$150 million.
  • Advising a group of Mexican banks on the co-financing for the construction and operation of “Parque Aztlán” with an estimated investment of US$125 million.
  • Advising an AIM quoted UK entity on the acquisition of business through a reverse acquisition to build an integrated media, technology and gaming group, with a particular focus on Latin America and the Mexican market.
  • Brookfield on the acquisition of 29 photovoltaic projects owned by X-Elio located in Mexico, Peru, South Africa, Spain and the United States.
  • Mexican Federal Government on a project for an Urban Elevated Toll Road in Mexico City under the new PPP legislation.
