On Thursday 8 and Thursday 15 October 2009, the Real Estate practice group at CMS Derks Star Busmann will be organizing the seminar entitled:
Wabo – introduction & consequences
The seminar will discuss the forthcoming introduction of the Environmental Permitting (General Regulations) Act (Wabo) and its consequences for you.
The introduction of the Wabo this coming January is fast approaching. Although the consequences of the Act may not be noticeable to you straight away, it is important for you and your organization to prepare for the new developments the Wabo will bring. The most important change is the introduction of a single environmental permit that can be applied for at a single point. This ‘one-stop shop’ concept demands more coordination, both internally and with other government bodies, and its aim is to achieve a more efficient service to individuals and businesses. Your challenge is to realize this objective in the coming weeks and months. For you to be able to do that, you need to be fully aware of the main legal and practical consequences of the Act.
During the seminar, we will take some practical examples to give you an understanding within a short space of time of the main elements of the Wabo and the impact its changes will have on you in practice. As well as looking at the aim of the Wabo, we will consider the one-stop shop concept, the granting of permits and the procedures to be followed in this respect. We will also deal with legal protection and its consequences for granting a permit.
The seminar will take place on Thursday 8 October at our offices in Arnhem and on Thursday 15 October 2009 at our offices in Utrecht.
