CMS advises KRC Capital on its disposal of CoffeeCompany to Sara Lee

CMS has advised KRC Capital on the sale of all shares in CoffeeCompany, a leading Dutch café store operator, to Sara Lee Corp. CoffeeCompany operates 35 coffee store outlets throughout the Netherlands.

Sara Lee will integrate the 35 coffee store outlets into its existing network creating a combined a network of 60 premium coffee stores, the largest in the Netherlands hosting more than 7 million consumer visitors a year. The acquisition aims to boost Sara Lee's branding platform in the premium coffee segment. The combined business will have a particularly strong presence in premium downtown locations in major cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and The Hague.

The transaction is expected to close within 30 days.

Sara Lee Corp. (NYSE: SLE) generates nearly $ 9 billion in annual net sales and employs approximately 20,000 people worldwide. In January 2011, Sara Lee Corp. announced that it will divide the company into two pure-play publicly traded companies, one focused on the international coffee and tea market and the other on North American meats.

KRC is an independent private equity firm founded by Rattan Chadha, the founder of international fashion company Mexx.
