CMS reports revenues of €2.173 billion
Press contacts
CMS has announced revenues of €2.173 billion for the financial year January-December 2025, representing year-on-year growth of 4.8%. The Corporate/M&A practice was the biggest contributor to revenue growth in 2025. Other practices that performed strongly included Dispute Resolution, Tax, Employment and Banking & Finance.
Commenting on the results, CMS Chairman Pierre-Sébastien Thill said: "Our continued growth reflects the commitment of our people. Their expertise and focus on high-quality service delivery are central to the value we provide. Steady revenue growth is ultimately built on strong client relationships: understanding our clients' businesses, working closely with them and supporting them through complex challenges."
Expanding into new markets
With more than 90 offices in 50 countries, CMS provides high-quality advice and services to clients in key business centres around the world. In 2025, INDUSLAW, one of India's leading full-service law firms, became a CMS member firm. In line with the CMS model, CMS INDUSLAW remains an independent Indian law firm under the CMS brand umbrella. The firm has a presence across India's principal commercial hubs, including Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai.
Strengthening leadership
CMS operates through international practice and sector groups organised around the industries in which its clients operate. In 2025, CMS appointed new heads and co-heads for seven of these international groups. In addition, CMS announced 56 new partners across the organisation. They are based in 28 cities in 18 countries, reflecting the international strength and reach of CMS. Women accounted for 48% of the promotions.
CMS Vice-Chairman Hubertus Kolster said: "At CMS, our people make the difference. We continue to invest in an inclusive working environment where everyone can perform at their best. By combining legal expertise with commercial insight, curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset, our people help CMS continue to develop and meet the needs of our clients."
Investing in the future
CMS continues to invest in innovation, AI and legal technology. Following the introduction of the GenAI platform Harvey in 2024, CMS announced a firmwide rollout in 2025. This extends access to Harvey to more than 7,000 CMS lawyers and business support professionals across more than 50 countries.
CMS Executive Director Isabel Scholes said: "At CMS, we see GenAI as a way to further strengthen the knowledge and skills of our people. We continue to challenge how legal services are delivered, with a clear focus on using technology to create value for our clients. Our global partnership with Harvey is a strong example of this approach. It helps our teams work in new ways while keeping client needs firmly at the centre."
