Relocation of Banking & Finance CMS Derks Star Busmann

From 1 December 2008 the Banking & Finance practice group of CMS Derks Star Busmann will be based at its Amsterdam office. At present the practice group is still partly located in Utrecht. By concentrating our Banking & Finance expertise in a single location, we will be able to serve our clients better and more efficiently, while at the same time meeting market demands.

Lawyer and partner Marcel Groenewegen (1962) will head the practice group. Groenewegen has been a member of this practice group at CMS Derks Star Busmann since 1988. The practice group comprises a total of 14 persons: five partners, three associates, five junior associates and a professional support lawyer, with further support from a Business Development Marketeer.

The practice group advises national and international companies, banks, pension funds, lease companies, insurance companies and other institutional capital providers, financing companies and other financial enterprises, investment funds and companies, intermediaries and investors.

The practice group advises its clients on all aspects of financing transactions, financial supervision and capital market transactions. Together with the Tax Law practice group, the Banking & Finance practice group has wide experience in advising on financing structures and transactions. The practice group also advises on insolvency law in the broadest sense, reorganizations and restructurings, and some members of the practice group act as receivers and liquidators in moratoriums and bankruptcies.
