CMS Kluge continues its strategic commitment to building a broad and future-oriented partnership. From 1st of January 2026, the firm will welcome five new partners – three internal promotions and two external hires. The appointments strengthen key focus areas within Corporate M&A, real estate, employment law, and tax and duties.

Three internal partner promotions

Christina Elisabeth Lavold – Corporate M&A

Christina has progressed her entire career at CMS Kluge since joining the firm in 2017 and has developed into one of the firm’s most central resources within transactions. She has built strong trust with some of our most important transaction clients and has been a driving force in developing the department’s professional environment. Her promotion to partner supports our strategic focus on Corporate M&A and on building the next generation of talent.

Kristian Aksland – Real Estate (Stavanger)

Kristian joined CMS Kluge as an associate in 2015 and has since progressed through the ranks as lawyer, senior lawyer and associate partner. From 1st of January, he will join the partnership at the Stavanger office. Together with Kim and the rest of the team, Kristian will play a key role in the firm’s planned expansion within real estate transactions and in further developing the practice on the west coast of Norway.

Ida Grøstad – Employment Law

Ida joined CMS Kluge in 2013 and has built her entire career at the firm. As a new partner in the employment law practice, she will be an important resource in the continued development of the field, both within the private and public sectors. Ida will also play a key role in cooperation within the international CMS organization.

Two external hires

Ivan Skjæveland – Tax and Duties (Stavanger)

Ivan joins CMS Kluge from Deloitte, where he has been a partner working broadly within tax and indirect tax law, including a significant number of litigation matters. He has argued eight cases before the Supreme Court of Norway and has held rights of audience since 2008. Ivan will be based at the Stavanger office, while strengthening CMS Kluge’s tax and duties team across the firm.

Kim Hellstrøm Christensen – Real Estate / Real Estate Transactions

Kim is recruited from AGP Lawyers and brings extensive experience within real estate transactions and commercial property. He has a strong commercial approach and a well-established network among private equity environments, arrangers and financial stakeholders. Kim joins the firm’s strategic focus on real estate transactions.

Strategic strengthening for the future

The partner promotions and recruitments form part of CMS Kluge’s long-term development of its professional environments and market position.

“We are very pleased to welcome Christina, Kristian, Ida, Ivan and Kim into the partnership. They represent both continuity and new momentum and will be important contributors to further growth and development across several of our strategic focus areas. This strengthens CMS Kluge as a whole and our ability to deliver future-oriented and strategic advice to our clients,” says Managing Partner Bjørnar Alterskjær.
