Arild Skage

Skage works in the company's department for construction and contracting and has extensive experience with both consulting and procedure within construction and contracting and general contract law. Skage has extensive experience with proceedings before both the district court and the court of appeal and has himself been an assistant judge for a period and he has also been appointed as an arbitrator. In recent years, he has prosecuted several major lawsuits in construction and contracting.

Skage has also participated in extensive work on reworking and developing new contract templates for several clients. Skage assists several clients on an ongoing basis during the construction period in connection with the processing of additional requirements, deadline extension requirements and looting and encumbrance requirements. He also assists clients and builders in all phases of projects from start-up with advice in relation to contract strategy and quality assurance of tender documents before these are sent out.

Skage has also assisted in a number of projects in the development and delivery phase. He has participated in extensive negotiations with international suppliers to secure contractual deliveries for both classic construction contracts and deliveries in manufacturing contracts. Skage has continuously advised a number of projects in this phase, and also assisted in critical situations e.g. in case of supplier bankruptcies.

Skage has assisted in a number of major disputes before the courts with dispute amounts up to more than 1 billion NOK. The dispute cases include a wide range of cases such as final settlement cases, deficiency claims, daily fine claims, claims for cancellation and cancellation settlement, questions about obsolete claims, etc.

Skage has also held several courses with topics within the various construction standards (NS 8407, 8405/8406 and 8401). Skage is a regular lecturer for Bane NOR's project school with semi-annual courses over two days.
