Zuzanna Staniszewska

Zuzanna Staniszewska, PhD and an attorney-at-law with extensive professional experience, is a senior associate in the Energy and Infrastructure Practice at CMS Poland. 

Zuzanna specialises in energy regulatory law, corporate and contract law, and the legal frameworks governing energy markets. She advises international and Polish clients on regulatory matters across the energy value chain, including power generation, distribution, trading, off-take and regulated activities in the oil & gas sector.

With nearly 10 years of experience in the energy sector, Zuzanna advises clients on complex regulatory matters arising under both Polish and EU law. Her expertise covers, in particular, energy law, geological and mining law, renewable energy regulations, offshore wind legislation, REMIT, MiFID II, the European Green Deal, the Fit for 55 package, the RED III Directive, the EU ETS, and chemical regulations. She supports clients in navigating energy market and grid-related issues, helping them address the challenges arising from an evolving regulatory landscape. Zuzanna also represents clients before administrative authorities and regulators, including in licensing and permitting proceedings relating to energy and mining activities.

Zuzanna advises on energy transition projects, decarbonisation strategies, renewable energy procurement and power purchase agreements (PPAs), supporting energy producers, energy consumers and financing institutions. Zuzanna provides comprehensive legal support throughout the development and implementation of renewable energy and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. Her practice combines regulatory and legislative experience with a strong understanding of market realities, enabling her to deliver practical, business-oriented advice.
