Javier is a senior associate in the Finance team at Holborn Law LLC, a member of the CMS Holborn Asia formal law alliance with CMS Singapore.

He acts for a wide range of clients, including banks, corporates, and private credit funds, on both lender and borrower mandates. His practice covers the full spectrum of debt financing work, with experience in syndicated lending, project finance, trade finance, and real estate finance. Javier regularly advises on complex cross-border and domestic transactions and is particularly active in the private credit space.

Known for his solution-oriented mindset, Javier is often relied upon to drive negotiations, deliver practical solutions, and provide a steady hand throughout the deal process.

Javier holds an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Leeds and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2015. He also leads the firm’s run club and is an active member of its Social and Diversity & Inclusion committees.

  • The bookrunning mandated lead arrangers on the grant of a US$1.2 billion syndicated revolving credit facility to Mercuria Asia Group Holdings and Mercuria Energy Trading. 
  • The lenders in relation to the grant of US$600 revolving credit and term loan facilities to members of the Royal Golden Eagle group.
  • The mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners on the grant of a US$200 million revolving credit facility to AYC Finance Limited, which facility is guaranteed by Ayala Corporation.
  • The mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners on a US$200 million term loan facility for SM Development Corporation.
  • The mandated lead arranger and bookrunner on a S$271 million syndicated loan facility for HB Universal Pte. Ltd, which facility is guaranteed by Ho Bee Land Limited for the financing of the acquisition, development and construction of the Biopolis Phase 6 business park project at one-north. 
  • Members of the GuocoLand group on approximately S$730 million facilities obtained from a club of lenders for the financing of the acquisition, development and construction of the Midtown Modern project at Tan Quee Lan Street.
  • The mandated lead arranger and bookrunner on a US$100 million syndicated term loan facility for Chailease International Financial Services (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., which facility is guaranteed by Chailease Finance Co., Ltd.
  • The mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners on the grant of S$630 million facilities to Oxley Gem Pte. Ltd. for the financing of the "Novotel Singapore On Stevens" and "Mercure Singapore On Stevens" hotels.
  • Sunseap Group in relation to a S$50 million facility from ING Bank for the construction of a portfolio of rooftop solar projects in Singapore.
  • MMC Land (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. in relation to a S$171 million syndicated facility for the development of a commercial project in Singapore. 
  • ShopBack in relation to financing extended to Hoolah Holdings Pte Ltd.
  • The lenders in connection with a credit facility for the Apex Group.
  • The lead arrangers in connection with a US$400 million incremental term B credit facility and a US$125 million incremental revolving credit facility for Apex Group Ltd. Apex Group Ltd, is a financial services provider which offers procurement, valuation, finance, redeployment, end of lease management and other related services.
  • The lenders on the grant of US$500 million facilities to Kape Technologies (a leading digital security software provider to end-consumers).
  • Dat Bike Group in connection with a US$2 million secured note issuance in favour of  Innoven Capital.
  • Lead counsel to Alliance to End Plastic Waste, Inc. in connection with a US$6 million secured loan facility to Mr Green Kenya Africa for the implementation of a plastic collection and recycling project in Kenya.
  • Partners for Growth in connection with a US$7 million loan facility for TotallyAwesome Australia, to be used for working capital purposes of the borrower and its group of companies.
  • The German Federal Network Agency as trustee of SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH (previously known as Gazprom Germania GmbH) as to Singapore law in connection with a close EUR14 billion financing provided by KfW to SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH.
