Field of activity

Oliver Werner is Managing Partner of CMS in Slovakia and an attorney-at-law specialising in corporate law/M&A and compliance. In addition to his specialisation in cross-border transactions (M&A), he advises companies with business activities in several jurisdictions on corporate law issues, creates tailor-made compliance systems and advises on legal issues in the area of money laundering prevention. Oliver Werner also has several years of experience with numerous internal investigations and advises companies in crisis situations in cases of corruption.
Oliver Werner is admitted as an attorney-at-law in both Austria and Slovakia. 

Previous professional experience / training

Oliver Werner completed his law studies at the University of Vienna in 2003, where he also received his doctorate in 2008. He joined CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz in February 2014 as a lawyer in the areas of corporate law, M&A and compliance and specialises in international transactions and internal investigations.

Oliver Werner has more than ten years’ experience in multinational transactions.


Oliver Werner regularly lectures on the above-mentioned specialist areas and at specialist events such as the Compliance Solutions Day.


Oliver Werner has been a partner at CMS since 2020 and heads the Bratislava office of CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz. He is also co-head of the Compliance Group and is responsible for the legal interns in the Corporate Group, thus helping to cultivate the CMS talent pool.
