Martina Mahnič Smole

Martina Mahnič Smole joined CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz in 2018. She is a member of the Slovenian Corporate/M&A team, advising clients on a broad range of corporate transactions, including domestic, cross-border, and global mergers and acquisitions.

In addition to her corporate work, Martina focuses on maritime and port law, advising on port concessions, terminal construction, logistics operations, and regulatory compliance across the North Adriatic region. Her practice bridges commercial, infrastructure, and transport law, assisting investors, operators, and public bodies in managing complex maritime projects.

Before joining CMS, Martina gained experience in another international law firm, advising multinational and domestic clients on commercial and finance-related matters.

During her Master’s studies, she spent an exchange semester at EBS Universität in Wiesbaden, where she attended the Transnational Commercial Law programme. In 2024 Martina has also completed her Ph.D. at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, specialising in commercial and maritime law, her thesis examined the legal status and governance of seaports.
