Renaud advises clients across the full spectrum of intellectual property, from strategic counsel to contentious matters, with a practice particularly developed in trademark law, copyright and patents. He has also developed recognised expertise in the protection of trade secrets and related disputes, cease-and-desist proceedings, and unfair competition law. He is an accredited arbitrator for “.be” domain name disputes. He has well-established expertise in negotiating licence agreements, particularly in the food and retail industry.
Renaud also has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, which he handles notably on behalf of multinational groups facing cross-border disputes.
On the transactional side, he advises multinational groups in the distribution, food and consumer goods sectors on structuring and negotiating exclusive distribution agreements, agency contracts and franchise agreements.
He publishes and speaks frequently on distribution law and intellectual property topics, including at specialised conferences and seminars.
Renaud is a member of the Benelux Trademarks Association (BMM), ECTA (European Communities Trademark Association) and the Belgian Association for the Protection of Copyright, and sits on the board of directors of AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property).
Renaud is recognised by Chambers Europe and Legal 500, where he is noted for his pragmatic IP advice and his expertise in distribution agreements.
