CMS Sofia assists in successful licensing of 40 MW Stanata PV project in Bulgaria

05 Aug 2026 Bulgaria 1 min read

CMS Sofia assisted in the successful licensing of a 40 MW Stanata Photovoltaic (PV) Project, located in the Novi Pazar municipality in Bulgaria, by the Bulgarian Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC). The main investor in the project is the Bulgarian company Winsol JSCo.

CMS provided regulatory and legal support during all stages of the preparatory process for the licensing of the Project before the EWRC, with the CMS team appearing during the open hearings at the EWRC and addressing all additional requests raised by the Bulgarian regulator.

As the financing and the EPC contract are well underway, it is expected that the Stanata project will be put into operation at the beginning of 2027.

The CMS Sofia team was led by the Managing partner Kostadin Sirleshtov and included Elena Yotova-Yordanova, Viktoriya Dimitrova-Toneva and Lyuba Bozova-Peshovska, and Petar Petrov (Energy).
