Technology Transformation - Consumer & Retail sector
Technological advancement and AI continue to transform the manufacturing and sale of consumer goods, from enhancing personalisation and streamlining operations to reshaping customer experiences.
This report is the second edition in our Technology Transformation series. In this publication, we analyse data from a survey of over 500 GCs, senior in-house counsel and risk managers across various sectors. We asked our respondents about their experiences and expectations relating to the use of new technologies, what risks they associate with them and how they intend to deal with these risks.
We extracted and analysed the responses and compared them with the data and observations produced in our first Consumer & Retail sector report. For consumer and retail companies, customer and supplier demands are the top drivers of adoption of new technology. As AI-driven e-commerce is becoming the norm, the use of AI across the sector continues to increase. Key concerns include liability for products using AI, violation of third-party IP rights by training/use of AI and data protection disputes – issues more pressing here than in other sectors.
