Katie Nagy de Nagybaczon is a partner in the Corporate Team at CMS London. Katie’s practice for the last 20 years has focused on private M&A in the TMT and consumer & retail sectors. 

Katie advises on a wide range of corporate transactions but is best known for her expertise in international and UK mergers and acquisitions. Katie works on both the buy side and sell side, advising on the whole lifecycle of business, from start-up, raising money through investment, growth through acquisition and successful exit. Katie also has extensive experience of joint ventures and advising on investment and shareholders’ agreements. 

Alongside her corporate practice, Katie is Co-Head of the Consumer & Retail Sector Group at CMS and in this position leads an international team of more than 40 partners and a total of more than 100 lawyers in 21 countries.

  • Marubeni Corporation on the UK aspects of its acquisition of Gola trainers owner Jacobson Group. 
  • Macquarie Capital on multiple transactions involving its investment in Onivia, a Spanish wholesale fibre network, including the acquisition of a 13% interest from Japanese bank Daiwa and on a sale of shares and debt to Arjun Infrastructure Partners and Aberdeen Investments. 
  • BT Group PLC on its GBP 600m+ agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. to form a 50:50 joint venture company to create a new premium sports offering for the UK and Ireland.
  • Proact, a Swedish listed IT managed services provider, on its acquisition of UK IT consultancy BlakYaks.
  • Compass Group PLC on its acquisition of Equinoxe Solutions. 
  • Iconix International on its acquisition of the streetwear brand Hoodrich.
  • CityFibre on its GBP 200m acquisition of FibreNation from TalkTalk and its GBP 29m acquisition of Entanet, an established provider of wholesale communications services.
  • UK based fibre providers Wildanet and GoFibre on vendor due diligence in connection with raising bank finance.
  • Sony Pictures Television on the sale of its entire UK channels portfolio to US investment firm Narrative Capital.
  • Foresight, a leading infrastructure and private equity investment manager, on its majority investments in UK fibre network providers Lightning Fibre and Connect Fibre.
  • Online health & beauty retailer The Hut Group on its acquisition of luxury skincare brand ESPA.
