Dr Stefan Gerster elected as expert commercial judge
CMS von Erlach Poncet AG congratulates Dr. Stefan Gerster MRICS, certified specialist in construction and real estate law, SBA, on his appointment as expert commercial judge at the Commercial Court of the Canton of Zurich.
On 24 June 2019, the Cantonal Council of Zurich appointed Stefan Gerster commercial judge for tenancy law at the chamber for “construction and architecture”.
“I am delighted to place my expertise and longstanding experience as a real estate lawyer at the service of this highly competent court", Stefan Gerster said on the occasion of his appointment.
As a certified specialist in construction and real estate law, SBA, Stefan Gerster has extensive experience in the purchase and sale of real estate as well as in the various aspects of construction and architecture. Over the last 20 years, he has represented numerous commercial tenants in matters of commercial leases. In particular, as a member of the board of directors and advisor to an international retail chain and as a consultant to a global IT company and a major insurance group, he has gained a lot of experience in connection with complex leases. Furthermore, he has dealt extensively with the rights and obligations of commercial tenants in sale and lease back transactions, dealing on a daily basis with the various aspects of shell construction, basic construction and tenant development as well as the corresponding maintenance, repair and renewal obligations. Stefan Gerster is named by various trade directories as Switzerland's leading real estate lawyer.
