Simone Brauchbar Birkhäuser advises and represents national and international clients in contentious and non-contentious matters relating to trade marks, designs, copyright, data protection, patents, unfair competition and advertising.
She has particular long-standing experience in the protection and enforcement of trade mark portfolios, as well as in drafting and enforcing agreements concerning the allocation and transfer of intellectual property rights, including rights in software. These include research and development agreements, licence agreements and sponsorship agreements. She also regularly advises on all IP and technology-related aspects of due diligence in corporate transactions. Another key area of her practice is e-commerce and the online distribution of goods and services.
Simone Brauchbar Birkhäuser advises clients from a wide range of sectors, including both listed companies and SMEs. Her clients include companies in the information technology, finance, pharmaceutical and mechanical engineering industries, as well as businesses active in fragrances, fashion, sports equipment and food production.
Simone Brauchbar Birkhäuser was admitted to the Bar in 1996 and has since worked at various patent and law firms in Basel and Zurich. She also regularly publishes on intellectual property and unfair competition law and has been a lecturer in intellectual property law on the MBA in Marketing and Business Development at the University of Basel since 2003.
