CMS advises AEW Energie AG on the acquisition of a participation in evpass SA

The energy supply company of the Canton of Aargau, AEW Energie AG, has invested in the Vaud-based company evpass SA.

Evpass SA operated the largest national network of public charging stations for electric vehicles in Switzerland. In 2018, more than 500 charging station were put into operation. The network currently consists of more than 1070 charging station, spread across 370 municipalities across whole of Switzerland.

The rapid spread of the evpass network – approximately ten new charging stations every week – requires strong partnerships. So far, evpass SA has been held by Green Motion SA and FMV SA (Forces Motrices Valaisannes). The capital injection and the entry of AEW Energie AG as shareholder shall enable evpass SA to strengthen and develop its network, in particular in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. The three shareholders each hold 33% of the share capital of evpass SA.

A team of CMS Zurich led by Daniel Jenny has advised AEW Energie AG on all legal aspects of this transaction.
