Berlin – BIP Candy & Toys Germany GmbH has acquired effective 1 April 2017 the business of IFC International Food Cooperation Germany GmbH from the insolvency administrator Hartwig Albers. As a result of the transfer it was possible to maintain the business unit with all employees. The parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.
Lawyers of the Berlin office of CMS have advised BIP Candy & Toys Germany GmbH on all legal aspects of this acquisition in the framework of a structured M&A process during a pending insolvency proceeding.
Berlin located IFC International Food Cooperation Germany GmbH was a leading firm in Germany in the field of development, production and distribution of licensed confectionery for children. IFC generated in 2016 revenue of approximately EUR 30 million with about 50 employees.
BIP Candy & Toys Germany is a wholly owned subsidiary of Netherlands located BIP Holland B.V. The BIP-group is active in Europe in the same business fields as was IFC and further develops its market position by the acquisition of IFC on the German market. The BIP-group targets to generate in 2017 revenue of EUR 75 million with about 100 employees.
