On 01.11.2005 the Minol group, which operates internationally, took over the operative business of
the Saarbrücken Zenner group, one of the largest manufacturers of water and heating metres, by
means of an asset deal following the insolvency of Zenner GmbH & Co. KG aA. A team from CMS
Hasche Sigle led by Dr Axel Sigle, partner in the Stuttgart office, advised Minol on the
transaction. Details of the purchase price were not disclosed.
The Stuttgart family-run company Minol, a leading appliance manufacturer and service provider
for consumption-dependent billing of heating and hot and cold water costs, will continue the
activities of Zenner under the umbrella of the Minol group in the form of the newly established
legally independent Zenner International GmbH & Co. KG with its domicile in Saarbrücken. All of
the employees affected by the sale will have continued employment in the new structure.
By assuming the Zenner group Minol is expanding its market position abroad and in future it
will have its own subsidiaries in 17 countries. In future Minol will also offer all products for
measuring heat and water in the home. Thus, in Germany the company's operations, which have
hitherto concentrated on the management of residential property, have been extended to include the
target groups power management, combined heat and power, wholesale trade, local authorities, OEM
and other metering service providers.
