Ignacio Astarloa is a Consultant of the Public Law & Regulated Sectors department at CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo. He has been practising as a lawyer since 1981 and specialises in administrative, constitutional, parliamentary and autonomic law, rights, freedom and security, technical regulation and the drafting of laws.
Being an attorney of the Spanish Parliament appointed via public examination, since 1983 he has advised the Chairman, Committee and Advisory Board of the Congress of Deputies, the Full House of Representatives and the Justice, Regulatory, RTVE Control, Public Authorities, Health and Consumption and Culture Committees.
Dedicated to teaching since 1978, Ignacio has lectured at Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, UNED and Carlos III de Madrid, delivering courses on numerous legal disciplines such as employment law, Autonomous Community law, parliamentary law and, especially, administrative law and constitutional law.
Moreover, he was also director of Constitution and Institutions at the Analysis and Studies Foundation (FAES).
Among other recognition, he has been awarded the Great Cross of Saint Raymond of Peñafort (1996), the Constitutional Order of Merit (1997) and the Great Cross of the Royal Order of Isabel la Católica (2004).
Ignacio is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation.
