CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo has further strengthened its key practice areas with the appointment of Elena Aguilar as a Partner of its Corporate department, currently formed of 12 partners.
Elena Aguilar specialises in corporate law, focusing on domestic and international M&A. In recent years, she has been particularly active advising private equity funds.
She joins from Baker McKenzie, where she was a team director in the M&A department for nine years, including a secondment in Siemens' legal department. Between 2005 and 2011, she worked at Uría Menéndez, with a stint at the firm's Buenos Aires office where she advised foreign investors on their interests in Latin America.
She holds Degrees in Law and Business Management and regularly lectures in the Master's Degree in Access to the Legal Profession at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
This latest appointment follows the recent appointment of the following partners: Guillermo Muñoz-Alonso to head up the Financial Market & Services department, Jaime Bofill to lead the Insurance, Reinsurance & Innovation practice and Alfonso Codes as a partner of the Public Law & Regulated Sectors team.
