Africa : CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre advises the Sodigaz Group in Burkina Faso on the Investment in its Equity by Amethis West Africa

26/09/2017

The Africa team of CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre advised the Sodigaz group, a pioneer in bottled-gas distribution in Burkina Faso, on the acquisition of a minority stake by Amethis, via Amethis West Africa, its investment vehicle dedicated to West Africa. It notably supported Sodigaz with the restructuring prior to the acquisition and in negotiations of the terms of the partnership with Amethis, represented by Khady Koné-Dicoh, investment director.

The Sodigaz group, led by Lala Bolly since 2014, is one of the pioneers in the distribution of bottled gas to Burkinabe families and is now one a major company in Burkina Faso. Since it was founded 40 years ago, the Sodigaz group has won a share of over 60% in a very dynamic market, achieving annual growth of more than 20% in the last five years and taking on major internationals thanks to its unique network of almost 2,000 exclusive resellers.

For this transaction, the Africa team of CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre advising Sodigaz comprised Deana d’Almeida, Associate Head of Tax, Nicole Marielle and Iris Francis.
