CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre advises AXA on the sale of its Romanian life insurance, savings and pension activities to Astra Asigurari

CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre advised AXA on the signing of an agreement with Astra Asigurari to sell its life insurance, savings and pension activities in Romania and thus withdraw from the Romanian market. Astra Asigurari is one of the leading insurers in Romania.

The parties made a mutual commitment not to disclose the terms of the agreement.

Finalisation of the transaction is subject to the usual conditions, particularly obtaining the relevant regulatory authorisations. AXA was advised on the transaction by CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre with Jean-Robert Bousquet (partner) and Jean-Charles Daguin addressing corporate aspects and Edouard Milhac (partner) tax aspects, in collaboration with CMS Cameron McKenna LLP in Romania with Horea Popescu (partner), who dealt with the corporate and regulatory aspects.

Astra Asigurari was advised by Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen with Gabriela Cacerea (partner) and Mirela Preda for corporate and regulatory aspects.
