CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre has helped the IGN create a national address database or BAN. The project is being conducted in partnership with the French postal service (La Poste), the OpenStreetMap France association and the Etalab task force of the Secretariat-General for Government Modernisation (SGMAP).
The CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre team included Anne-Laure Villedieu, Partner, and Prudence Cadio, associate. Together they advised the IGN in drawing up and negotiating the terms of the partnership agreement between founding parties of the BAN as well as the operating license and conditions for sharing the database. The BAN is destined to become a reference in address databases, operating on the basis of collaboration and mutual sharing. The project is part of the open data movement which promotes communication and sharing of public information and data. As for the French postal service, it retained the law firm Caprioli and associates for legal counsel.
