CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre is strengthening its intellectual property team by adding José Monteiro as of Counsel

José Monteiro is joining the CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre intellectual property team, headed by Anne-Laure Villedieu, Partner.

José Monteiro, 63, is a graduate of the Strasbourg Faculty of Law and the CEIPI (Centre for International Studies in Industrial Property). He worked for Sanofi and was then L’Oréal’s Legal Director for Trademarks for 20 years.

In addition to these positions, José Monteiro has held important posts, such as chairman of the Medef and Business Europe working groups on ‘Trademarks and Models’. He is also a past president of the APRAM (French Association of Trademark and Model Practitioners), which he made dramatic changes to, making it the top professional organization in this area in France and one of the largest in Europe.

He will contribute his expertise in the area of trademark and industrial property law, and will help promote the firm’s intellectual property practice.

About the intellectual property team: the CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre team includes ten associates specialising in intellectual property law. It advises, manages litigation, drafts documents, and conducts negotiations in the areas of industrial property law (trademarks, patents, designs); copyright; and computer, electronic communications, and personal data protection law. It relies on the CMS network, which has 150 specialists working in this field in 38 countries.
