CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre Morocco advised the Barid Al Maghrib group (Morocco's postal service - Poste Maroc) on the acquisition of all the capital in the Moroccan goods distribution and courier company, SDTM. The deal totalled 103 million dirhams, equivalent to roughly €9.2 million.
SDTM is an express transport, distribution and courier company with a substantial BtoB market share.
The aim of the acquisition for Barid Al Maghrib and SDTM is to create a leading express courier and goods transport company.
Barid al Maghrib's external growth operation is exceptional in Morocco, inasmuch as it entails the acquisition of a private company by a state company, in a deal that required prior government approval.
Barid Al Maghrib received legal and fiscal advice from Marc Veuillot and Johan Bruneau at CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre Morocco.
The vendors were advised by UGGC, represented by Patrick Larrivé and Christophe Simonnet.
