Press release
Starting December 2025, CMS Francis Lefebvre joins the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (CCIFJ) as a non-resident member.
The CCIFJ, which is the first European Chamber in Japan, was founded in 1918 and comprises today a network of more than 650 member companies in all sectors of activity, amongst which a third is composed of Japanese companies. It has established itself in Japan as a key player in the development of business opportunities between the two countries.
The firm's decision to join the CCIFJ is part of its growing process in developing itself vis à vis the Japanese clientele and community and goes hand in hand with the integration of Claude Kaneda into the firm in 2025.
Membership of the CCIFJ will see the firm, as well as the CMS network, become more active with Franco-Japanese business clients, notably through future seminars, visits of Japan to participate in flagship events, and enhanced dialogue with key players within this community, thereby becoming an indispensable legal player on the Franco-Japanese field.
With the support and in cooperation with the firm's teams, Claude Kaneda, a Paris Bar attorney, marked by his dual linguistic and cultural expertise and five years of experience in Japan, will be one of the main points of contact for the CCIFJ and the firm's relations with Japan, and will be delighted to provide optimal and long-term support to the clients in this community.
